Most of you know by now that Mal, myself and a couple of other people have been involved in a project we're calling Jihad Universe 2.0, something to revitalize, redefine to a certain degree, and above all stabilize Jihad roleplay. The rules that were posted to AB4D (I think they're on JihadWeb too) are only the first part, we're also working on writing out a definitive version of the Jihad Universe itself, so that we have a coherent universe to roleplay in and plan roleplay in. We're to the point now where we expect to have a first draft of that canon done pretty soon (the end of this month is the target date), and I've been thinking of asking (and now I actually am asking) if people could as a courtesy do us the favor of not releasing any new storylines we don't know about for two or three weeks until we're done with that first draft. It will make it a lot easier to write up the Jihad Universe if we're not worried about changes or additions being made as we're writing things up.
Jihad Universe 2.0, Projected Release Date Announced.

"Jihad Universe 2.0: A Guide To Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About
The Jihad But Nobody Knew Enough About To Answer Your Questions Properly.
will be released to the masses by the end of 1999." says Malaclypse the Seeker
of VRDET. "Our hope is to have the first draft available to pre-readers by Oct. 31,
and the edited version to the rest of the Jihad by Thanksgiving."
Readers may or may not know about the revision of the Jihad Universe currently in the works but this
project has been well into production for quite some time now. Not long ago a beta version of JU2 was made public for Jihadii to look over and though not a complete work, to use a basic set of guidlines.
For those of you who may not have caught the beta release, you can still grab a copy at http://home.amigo.net/mrfnord/ju2/.
For those of you considering a charcter profile update in the near future, there is now a set of
guidlines that everyone is urged to follow. Most profiles should only require a bit of minor tweaking
and the new rules are pretty much the same as the old. The major differences between the old and the new are that, unlike before, there is actual documentation and this time around the common sense things we all know *not* to do are clearly stated. Hopes are that this will help new-comers with
the all-important and often confusing job of writing their first character profile.
